Next-Gen Stats is coming into Year 2 The previous year, Madden 21's next-gen version Madden 21 introduced Next-Gen Stats -- a bold attempt to take real-world information from sensors in the field to give star players bespoke animations and other enhancements. Madden 22 will bring many enhancements to Next Generation Stats. It will include information on passing aggression, ballcarriers breaking tackles and team tactics. These upgrades are over and above other gameplay features such as sideline detection and tackle mechanics.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions are also receiving updates. While EA's efforts have clearly moved towards the PS5 and Xbox Series X, previous-gen consoles will remain maintained for another year. Graddy has confirmed that all modes would be the same on all platforms. Face of the Franchise will be identical between Gen 4 and Gen 5. Ultimate Team will be very similar. The Yard and Superstar KO, which we weren't able to talk about much and that's going to be quite like," Graddy said. "With the management of the franchise staff will remain and game-planning will be present. However, some of the dynamic elements of atmosphere and Next-Gen stats gameplay which are only accessible to Gen 5 aren't going to be present in. However, I think Gen 4's Gen 4 audiences are going to be content with a lot of the new content they're getting."
Overall, Madden 22 is an intriguing update in theory, with a lot of exciting improvements to the PS5 and Xbox Series X A lot will depend on EA's execution, which has been lacking in recent times. As the series develops on next-generation consoles, it's possible that a bit of polish will be a huge difference. If Madden 22 launches later in the year, we'll watch to observe if EA can learn from this experience.
