The slow game doesn't mean that your team is always losing games. EA has created this mode in order to give you an unsteady start to the season, losing some games, but then getting things back in order and gradually progressing towards the middle and end of the season when you'll begin winning more games.
The news is big from the NFL as the Washington franchise, known for the last twenty or so months as Washington Football Team after (finally) getting rid of the Redskins name, is now sporting a new proper, permanent name: Washington Commanders. Washington Commanders - which we actually enjoy.
What do that leave us with in Madden 22? We've had the WFT for a good while since then, so we're expecting EA to be quick to update the game and integrate Washington's new branding within the game. It is very unlikely that they've only realized they have it, and may have been able to work on it for some time under NDA. It's possible we'll have to wait for Madden 23 but we hope not. EA hasn't made any announcements yet , but the desire of fans to know what is going on and when the change will occur in-game is going to increase and increase.
Update: Unconfirmed as of yet, but Apptrigger is reporting they have had confirmation by an EA representative that the Commanders aren't expected to arrive in Madden until Madden 23. More information on this as it is confirmed. "The Washington Football Team will be updated with the new Washington Commander nickname, uniforms, and logo in Madden NFL 23."
